Communicate 4.3.1 The Synchronous Session

In my online learning experiences, I greatly appreciated the opportunity to contact my instructors in a synchronous manner when I or they felt it necessary. Knowing that I had a specific time set up to ask any questions I had made me more confident and less insecure about moving forward and learning new material.

Synchronous Communication tools encourage a learning community. It would be easy for a student to feel isolated when working at home alone on all assignments. Knowing that a synchronous environment in place creates an opportunity for like-minded individuals to exchange ideas in a way that will break down any barriers or isolation.
