Create 1.1.3 Appearance
I feel like appearance is subjective, but here are my opinions:
Sound Design:
1. http://www.coolmath-games.com/1-number-games-01.html
I like that the information is grouped by tabs, clearly labeled, and relevant images are provided.
2. https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat
I particularly like that the design fits a mature audience. It isn't overflowing with images or animations, but it has a sleek, colorful design.
3. https://learnzillion.com/free_resources#
This site clearly delineates between parent, student, and teacher resources. All links are appropriately labeled, and the site is aesthetically pleasing.
4. http://pbskids.org/
Lots of images to help young users click along, even if they can't read. Great site.
5. http://www.timeforkids.com/news
The toolbar on the left shows a sense of organization that makes navigating easy and intuitive.
Not So Sound Design:
1. http://www.ck12.org/book/Commonsense-Composition/section/1.1/
The information is clear and presented in a linear fashion, but the appearance is very dull. I would advise the developer to include some images.
2. http://discovermagazine.com/
There's way too much going on for this homepage. It's information and stimulation overload.
3. http://www.vocabulary.com/
This site is very dull. There's no appeal at all.
4. http://www.homeworkspot.com/
There are way too many words on the homepage. It's confusing and overwhelming.
5. www.voki.com
Voki is an awesome tool, but the website could use some help. The font is gray and small, while the images are larger than necessary.
